a new musical experience offered by the Augustana Campus of the University of Alberta and Camrose Association for Community Living

SingAble is an inclusion community choir for singers of all abilities and levels of experience. Individuals drawn from all ages and stages of life with a desire to experience the wondrous benefits of singing are warmly welcomed to discover their unique voice and move freely to some of the most popular songs drawn from traditional, folk and contemporary styles.

The goal of SingAble is to provide all community members, including those who may have disabilities and exceptionalities, with the opportunity to explore and express their musical talents in a meaningful and rewarding way through song. SingAble will create an inclusive environment where everyone is valued, regardless of ability, background, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status.

The Augustana Campus of the University and the Camrose Association for Community Living (CAFCL) with guidance from the Alzheimer Society of Alberta are excited about the potential of SingAble and about the relationships that can be built within the rich musical community in Camrose. We understand that communities are naturally strengthened as we join together to share our many diverse talents and capacities.

SingAble will meet at the Augustana Faith and Life Centre Chapel between 6:45 and 8:00 pm every Tuesday night starting October 2018. Facilitated by students in Augustana's Community Service Learning program, SingAble will be directed by Associate Professor, Dr. Ardelle Ries, a passionate choral director, advocate for and researcher of multi-generational and inclusion singing.
