Summer Camp
Connection. Friendships. Fun. Leadership. Wellbeing. Inclusive. Learning. Adventures.
These are some words that come to mind when we think about Summer Camp. CAFCL strives to provide a safe and welcoming environment where all kids and youth can be themselves. Our fully inclusive camps help to highlight the strengths of our campers through new experiences and meaningful connections with one another and the camp staff. The three different streams of summer camp include a Kandu Camp for children, a Leaders in Training Camp for Youth, and a Travelling Kandu Camp for children located in rural communities throughout the County of Beaver, Flagstaff, and Camrose. Hannah Wispinski who has attended Kandu Summer Camp for several years shares, “l liked the cool themes each week, the fun activities, and the great field trips.” CAFCL is beyond grateful for the support of the Battle River Community Foundation. With their support, we are able to remove barriers related to finances for families. Being able to provide a camp at a low cost, as well as providing a fully subsidized camp for families in need, remains a priority. We believe all children deserve to experience the joys of Summer Camp! Rob Hauser (Battle River Community Foundation) Andrea Taeger (CAFCL Board Member) Hanna Wispinski (Kandu Camper)
