2026 Scholarships
CAFCL is excited to announce this year's scholarship recipients!
Gillespie Family Bursary
The Gillespie Family Bursary was developed by Don Gillespie in memory of his wife Lois. Don has since passed and now the children of the Gillespie Family work together with CAFCL to ensure a student in the disabilities field or a field of related study receive this bursary. Gwen Forst is the recipient of this year's bursary.
CAFCL Human Services Scholarship
The $2500 CAFCL Human Services Scholarship is awarded to a student in the disabilities field or a field of related study such as Disability Studies, Special Education, Psychology, Sociology or Nursing. Avery Batke is this year's Human Services Scholarhip recipient.
Norris-Bowen Scholarship
The Norris-Bowen Scholarship was developed by Mrs. Muriel Rieger in memory of Franklin Waldo Norris and Jesse Bowen. This $500 scholarship is awarded to an individual that self-identifies with a disability that will be participating in further education of any type in the East Central Alberta Region. Avery Rahier is this year's recipient.
